Quarterstaff is also an occidental martial art. It's not all swords. :)
(Not that there's anything wrong with swords. I'd be happy to beat people with a sword too.
But I figure you are much more likely to find a broom, floor lamp, or hiking stick than a sword.
Though there was that book on how to use a cane....)
